From the 16th-century estate of the Marquis de Causans, certified organic since 2012, this Cotes du Rhone blends 65% Grenache with Syrah, Carignan, and Mourvedre grown on clay-limestone soils near Jonquieres. Vinified and matured in concrete, it shows an intense red with purple glints. The producer's notes describe a powerful nose of raspberry, strawberry, licorice, and garrigue, with a balanced palate of ripe fruit, freshness, and roundness framed by smooth, well-matured tannins. A classic southern Rhone for roast lamb or ratatouille.
