The Kent & Masters MDM is a quality British-made dressage saddle designed to provide a supportive but non-restrictive rider position while offering considerable fitting flexibility for the horse. The MDM designation identifies this saddle as the Dressage Moveable Block – Standard Wither model.
The MDM uses Kent & Masters' R-Bar changeable gullet system, allowing the front width of the saddle to be changed as the horse develops or changes shape. The Medium-Wide setting is therefore the saddle's current configuration, rather than a permanently fixed tree width.
The MDM features a traditional dual-flap dressage design with repositionable Velcro thigh blocks underneath the flap. This allows the rider to alter block placement to better accommodate individual femur length, leg position, and preference.
The saddle also features 100% British wool-flocked panels. Wool flocking allows a qualified saddle fitter to fine-tune panel volume, balance, and contact with the horse's back and provides considerably more fitting flexibility than a permanently molded foam panel.

Horse Fit
The MDM is the Standard Wither version of the Kent & Masters dressage saddle. It is designed as a starting point for horses with a relatively conventional back and wither profile rather than horses requiring the specialized High Wither or Low Profile versions.
With the MW gullet currently installed, this particular saddle is presently configured for a horse requiring moderately greater width through the front of the saddle.
The combination of the changeable R-Bar gullet and wool-flocked panels provides two useful fitting adjustments. The gullet bar changes the front width/angle, while a qualified saddle fitter can alter the wool flocking to fine-tune balance and panel contact.
Actual fit still depends on the horse's shoulder angle, wither shape, topline curvature and saddle-support area.
Rider Fit
The MDM's moveable Velcro thigh blocks are particularly useful because their position can be adjusted for the individual rider rather than forcing the rider into a single fixed block position.
The semi-deep seat provides security while retaining more freedom than a very deep, heavily blocked competition dressage saddle.
