I camped at Artilery Ridge Campground - VERY horse & kid friendly! You can rent paddocks that hold two horses comfortably or rent a covered stall. They have cabins, round pens, water, electric and sewer hook ups. On the Battlefield, there are designated bridle trails for horseback riding throughout the park. They are well marked, manicured, relatively flat with very little rocks. There are approx 14 miles of trails but they are out and back, no loops. Don't let that stop you, the views are spectacular! You are immersed in history and it was so wonderful to be gracing such hallowed grounds.
